Current Charts ("the App", "we", "our") shows animated tidal-current forecasts for the Salish Sea. This policy explains exactly what information the App handles.
Current Charts does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Your location never leaves your device.
If you grant location access, the App uses your position for exactly two things, both entirely on-device: showing your position on the current map, and centering the map when you open the App on the water. Your location is never transmitted off your device, stored by us, or shared with anyone. You can use the App fully without granting location access.
The App downloads current-forecast data files from our content server (a few megabytes per region per day). These are anonymous file downloads — no account, identifier, or personal information accompanies them. The App never communicates with any other service.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
If you choose to report a data problem from Settings, the App opens an email draft in your mail app. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and the report contains only what you write plus the map location and time you were viewing.
The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
